Fulham FC Women continued their pre-season preparations with a convincing 4-0 victory over Moneyfields in their second friendly match. The team showed significant improvement from last week's game, demonstrating better application of their strategies and a more disciplined approach to possession.
“I think the group have taken massive strides from last week's game into this week and we saw a lot better application of our strategies, certainly in possession.” Steve Jaye - FFCW Head Coach
Throughout the match, Fulham dominated possession, controlling the tempo and pressing effectively. Moneyfields found it difficult to break through Fulham's organized press, a testament to the hard work put in during the week. Despite a goalless first half, Fulham's persistence paid off in the second half with goals from Sophie Manzi, Ellie Olds, and two promising trialists. This performance not only showcased the team's attacking prowess but also their ability to manage the game and maintain their shape and it was promising to see a clean sheet from the defensive unit as well as assists from Georgia Heasman (2), Ellie Olds and a trialist.

Reflecting on the match speaking to FFCtv, head coach Steve Jaye said, “Last week I think we gave the ball up probably a little bit too easily, but this week we ironed out our details and got into really good positions and good shapes, looked after the ball a lot better.”
Jaye was particularly pleased with the team's pressing game, stating, “We've spent a lot of time working on our press this week and I thought the group were exceptional with the press. I think Moneyfields found it really difficult to try and break through us and that was credit to the work that they've put in in the week and also that they've been able to apply today.”
The second half performance was especially pleasing as the players responded well to half-time instructions. “The players responded really well to information at half-time. We were a bit disappointed to come in and they listened to that information and they came back out and obviously did a really good job in managing the scoreline,” Jaye commented.
