Fulham travel to Portman Road to take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town in the third matchweek of the 2024/25 Premier League season. After a solid 2-1 victory over Leicester City, Marco Silva’s men will look to continue their positive momentum. Meanwhile, Ipswich will be desperate to secure their first points of the season after a tough start that included defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Form Guide
Fulham have had a balanced start to the season, with a win against Leicester City following a narrow defeat to Manchester United. Their form from preseason suggested an upward trajectory, and with key players like Emile Smith Rowe and Rodrigo Muniz stepping up, Fulham will be confident going into this match.
Ipswich, on the other hand, have struggled on their return to the Premier League, conceding six goals in their first two games. Despite these challenges, their home crowd at Portman Road will be eager to see them bounce back and deliver a more competitive performance.

Fulham have dominated recent encounters between the two clubs, winning all of the last five meetings. Ipswich have struggled to break down Fulham’s organised defence, while the Cottagers have managed to consistently find the back of the net.

Key Player Analysis
Sammie Szmodics A man who at one point was linked with Fulham, Sammie Szmodics joined Ipswich after promotion off the back off a brilliant season in the Championship, scoring 27 goals from 44 league appearances. An Irish international, Ipswich will be hoping Szmodics can fire them to safety this season.

Tactical Preview
Fulham are expected to come flying out of the blocks again, playing a more attacking brand of football. With Lukic and Pereira sitting deep but pushing the team forward, Fulham will likely try to dominate possession and apply heavy pressure from the outset. Ipswich have shown they are no pushovers and will likely remain compact, looking to frustrate Fulham with solid defending. However, given the quality Fulham possess in their forward line, Silva’s men should have enough to break down Ipswich’s resistance.
Injuries and Suspensions
Fulham target Kalvin Phillips may be available after picking up a slight knock last week but there's a number of other Ipswich players who may well be unavailable for this game although Ipswich should have all of their key players available.

Predicted Lineups
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Pereira; Traore, Smith-Rowe, Iwobi; Muniz
Ipswich Town: Muric; Davis, Woolfenden, Johnson, Greaves, Tuanzebe; Morsy, Hutchinson, Szmodics, Luongo; Delap
Jack's Top Tip
Fulham are likely to push forward again but expect to see Ipswich do their best to shut Fulham out completely. I still think we'll have more than enough to get the job done but I expect this will be a low scoring affair, most like a 1-0 victory to Fulham so I'm going for a Fulham win and Under 2.5 goals to cover the 1-0 and 2-0 victories as I just don't see Ipswich scoring.
